Dawn L. Ward is a retired English teacher who now tutors students online and encourages young readers to discover the joy of imagination, adventure, and family memories.
Inspired by lakeside days, beach trips, playground laughter, and the simple magic found in childhood, she created Sunshine, Smiles and Side Adventures to celebrate the special moments that become treasured memories for years to come.
Through warm storytelling and gentle watercolor-style imagery, Dawn hopes her books inspire children and families to slow down, laugh together, explore the world around them, and hold tightly to the people they love most.
When she is not writing or tutoring, Dawn enjoys spending time near the water, creating new story ideas, and making memories with family and friends in Virginia.
